DIOCESAN PASTORAL COUNCIL: As an expression of our communion in the faith, in our desire to promote the participation of the faithful - clerics, religious men and women and laity - in the mission of the Church, Bishop Soc has constituted the Diocesan Pastoral Council of the Diocese of Balanga. The following were chosen as members of the said ecclesial body: Prudencio Estrella, Jericho Isidro, Dexter Darryl Manansala, Rosalie Ona, Jeffrick Padua, Amalia Ponce, Msgr. Victor Ocampo, Fr. Rosauro Guila, Msgr. Hernan Guanzon, Fr. Josue Enero, Fr. Maximo Villanueva, Jr., Fr. Antonio Quintos, Fr. Gabriel Kamus, OSJ, and Sr. Josephine Ignacio, SP. The Council will be consulted by the diocesan bishop on matters pertaining to the pastoral activity of the diocese including the diocesan pastoral plan, various catechetical, missionary, and apostolic initiatives, ways of improving the doctrinal and sacramental life of the faithful and various ways of raising public awareness regarding the concerns of the Church.
THE Diocese has launched the BATAAN: BAYANI AT BANAL Formation Program last January 3,4 and 5. Attended by at least 3 representatives from all parishes and chaplaincies, the Formation Program will be echoed up to the barangay, sitio and chapel areas throughout the Diocese. The 1st Formation Program was held at the Bishop Celso Guevarra Formation Center in Calaguiman. The Formation Center was the old Bahay-Pari. When Bishop Soc arrived in the Diocese, he spearheaded the renovation, reconstruction and redesigning of the said Center. It is fully-airconditioned and the main function hall could accommodate at least 300 participants. Overnight facilities are also available. The BATAAN: BAYANI AT BANAL Formation Program covers the 8 Pastoral Priorities of the Diocese. In addition to the formation program, there is a regular consultation and formation every 2nd Saturday of the month for Parish Pastoral Councils and the Parish Youth Councils. There is also a regular and ongoing consultation and formation for the civic, business, and government sectors and the BEA (Bataan Educators' Association). Let us be heroes and saints together! |
