Seminarian Jhoen Buenaventura was ordained to the diaconate on June 30, 2008, Memorial of the First Martyrs of Rome, at the San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish in Mariveles, Bataan by Bishop Socrates B. Villegas, Bishop of Balanga.
Jhoen is a seminarian for the Diocese of Balanga studying at the Pontifical Beda College in Rome. His father was born and baptized in the same parish church where he was ordained. Although the family now resides in San Juan, Metro Manila, Jhoen has opted to serve the Diocese of Balanga.
After ordination, the new deacon was assigned to the Cathedral Parish of Saint Joseph in Balanga City and to the barrio parish of Saint Francis Xavier in Parang, Bagac, Bataan. He will return to Rome in September to resume his final year of theological formation prior to his ordination to the priesthood.
We commend him to your prayers that he may persevere in this holy vocation.
