Stella Maris Retreat House: Our First Diocesan Retreat Center

Through the efforts and generosity of the Sisters of Notre Dame- their friends and benefactors, and upon the invitation of Bishop Soc Villegas, now Archbishop of Lingayen-Dagupan, the first ever Retreat House of the Diocese has been completed and dedicated today, the 18th of January, 2010.

In the solemn Eucharistic celebration presided by Archbishop Soc, together with the clergy of the Diocese, the different religious congregations and the lay faithful, Archbishop Soc shared that the dream of having a Retreat House in the Diocese is the result of the meeting of "different loves" - love for God and love for country. The Retreat House, which, literally and metaphorically, sits on a mountain, is a reminder of God meeting His people in the Bible. The Archbishop mentioned the sacred moments when the people of God met the Lord from the Old Testament up to the time of Jesus - culminatating in God showing His love for us in the mountain of Calvary.

The Stella Maris Retreat House will also be a holy place where we could find rest, peace, quiet, and God. We could not thank enough, Archbishop Soc said, for this blessing. May the Lord continue to thank those who made this dream a reality. The Retreat House is located in the City Of Balanga, Upper Tuyo extension - about two kilometers from the Roman Highway.

We will be posting in this website - the map, Retreat House Rules and Guidelines, and then before the month ends, an online Reservation service. For the Dedication Day pictures, please click here. Click here for the Center's website >.
